NEWS/BLOG

Arizona Friends of Chamber Music is a nonprofit organization presenting the world's finest chamber music. This is classical music at its best. Intimate, intense, warm or challenging, contemporary or classic - we know you'll enjoy each concert.

The Evening Concert Series, presented by AFCM for over 60 years, consists of six concerts by a wide variety of chamber music ensembles, now at 7:30 p.m. instead of 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays

Piano and Friends, which presents rising stars in piano recitals or duos with string or other instruments, are matinee concerts on Sundays at 3 p.m.

The Tucson Winter Chamber Music Festival, an absolutely delightful week-long series of concerts and other events during the first week of March, includes free open rehearsals, a gala dinner with wonderful music by Festival musicians, a youth concert and master classes. We have also produced an acclaimed series of Festival recordings.

Unless specified, all our concerts are at Leo Rich Theater.

AFCM's Commissioning Program allows our audience members to sponsor new chamber works with us. No other music society in the country or indeed globally has such an active audience supported commissioning program! We have now created an exciting and unique online resource, where one can listen to complete performances of our more than 40 commissions, as well as find out much more about the composers and their works. Please join us in supporting and celebrating contemporary chamber music here.

Here Joseph Lin premieres his Trio for Strings at the 2011 Festival. Mr. Lin recently joined the renowned Juilliard String Quartet as the ensemble’s new first violinist.
